BRR names three new principals to the ownership group:
Nicole Curry, AIA, has been promoted to Principal within the BRR leadership team. Nicole joined BRR in 2021 with more than 18 years of experience designing and managing award-winning multifamily and mixed-use developments in both urban and suburban communities, office buildings, tenant finish and single family homes. As Director of Mixed-Use and Multifamily, Nicole believes that client communication is the key to creating successful projects. Her ability to listen and interpret her clients’ needs helps clients achieve their goals through creative and cost-efficient design solutions.
Zach Sumada, AIA, has been promoted to Principal within the BRR leadership team. As Director of Design, Zach plays a critical role in communicating our design solutions from the early stages of the design process, and advancing projects through schematic design and design development. He works on a variety of project types, including grocery, retail, office environment and hospitality facilities, and brings a well-rounded and methodical approach to the design process.
Dennis Wilson, AIA, has been promoted to Principal within the BRR leadership team. Dennis is part of our Bentonville office and leads our Walmart Remodel and Special Projects programs. In his 20+ years with BRR, he has worked on hundreds of remodel projects throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. He also leads BRR’s construction cost estimating services for remodel prototypes, and provides a valuable resource for our clients to forecast program-wide construction costs and cost implications of proposed changes.
We are also pleased to share a new Senior Vice President has been selected from our principal group:
Ty Holcomb, AIA, has been promoted to Senior Vice President on BRR’s principal team. Ty has over 26 years of industry experience and helps lead our Dallas office. He managed some of the firm’s most challenging projects including multi-story and parking garage programs. Ty volunteers with the Dallas AIA Education Outreach Committee, and previously served on the Murphy, TX Planning Commission.
We are proud to announce the following as they are promoted to Associate:
Jacob Henley, AIA, has been promoted to the BRR leadership team as an Associate. Jacob has nearly 14 years of professional experience and works as a project manager and licensed architect in our Kansas City office. Since joining BRR in 2016, Jacob has worked with multiple hotel brands and franchisees on properties in markets across the U.S. Day-to-day, Jacob manages projects through all phases of the design process from schematic design through construction administration. His attention to detail is critical in coordinating between project owners, design teams, vendors, engineers and contractors.
Jessica Kim, AIA, has been promoted to the BRR leadership team as an Associate. Since joining BRR in 2019, Jessica has worked on numerous project types, including new construction, remodels and prototype for a variety of retail clients across the U.S. She works in our Philadelphia office guiding her project teams through all phases of a project from design development to construction document production to construction administration. She strives for collaboration and efficiency with her team members, engineers, consultants, vendors and owners. Jessica was also recognized as one of VMSD’s Designer Dozen in 2021.
Eirene Knott, MCP, has been promoted to the BRR leadership team as an Associate. Eirene joined our Kansas City office in 2011 and has more than 30 years of experience working nationally with building and fire codes. She has written and presented code changes to clarify language in the code, as well as provided testimony on other proposed code changes. Prior to joining BRR, Eirene served as a Building Official, a Senior Plans Analyst, Building Inspector and Permit Technician. She has taught several codes-related courses at various conferences and the National Fire Academy.
Stephanie Russell, RA, has been promoted to the BRR leadership team as an Associate. Stephanie works in our Bentonville office and has 10 years of experience working on both commercial and industrial project types. She is a program manager for one of the firm’s largest retail clients and has experience working on a variety of remodel project types. During her time at BRR she has been heavily involved in the development of Revit drawing efficiencies, process initiatives and program standards for our clients.
Ed Thomas, AIA, has been promoted to the BRR leadership team as an Associate. Since joining BRR’s Kansas City team in 2012, Ed has worked on projects in our retail, grocery and industrial sectors. He enjoys all aspects of project delivery from programming to construction administration. In his day-to-day work, Ed manages his team through multiple projects and pays keen attention to detail on each phase of the project from design development through construction administration.
Lastly, we are thrilled to announce a new Senior Associate to BRR’s leadership team:
Angela Markley, JD, has been promoted to Senior Associate on BRR’s leadership team. Angela has been with BRR since 2011 and is our in-house legal counsel. Day to day, she works with our leadership and project teams to implement smart, mutually-beneficial contract terms with our clients and consultants. Her expertise managing professional service agreements has been essential in maintaining positive client relationships, as well as a healthy legal and financial standing for BRR.
